Mandiri << Exim << NHM

Museum Mandiri is one of museums which located in Oud Batavia.

The history begins from 1929. Once this building wasn't Bank Mandiri, but NHM (Nederlandsche Handel-Maatschappij), a Dutch bank. Only Dutch that could save money here and Indonesian couldn't. Indonesian used to save their money at Bank Indonesia or De Javasche Bank.
In 1960 NHM was nationalized after Indonesia independency in 1945 became Bank Exim (Bank Expor Impor). But, crisis in 1998 made Bank Exim joined with BDN (Bank Dagang Negara), Bapindo (Bank Pembangunan Indonesia), and BBD (Bank Bumi Daya) became Bank Mandiri.
There were 3 architect from Holland who designed and built this building named J.J.J. de Bruyn, A.P. Smits and C. van de Linde.
